The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Placement Credit

Carolina participates in the Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and A-Level programs and awards credit based on the following schedules. These schedules are reviewed annually by the faculty and are subject to change without notice.

To be considered for credit and/or placement, students must ask the appropriate testing service to send us their official test results. Generally, scores from the senior year of high school reach us in late July, and we notify students in writing of the credit they'll receive shortly thereafter. Score reports for exams taken before the senior year must also be sent directly to us from the testing service.

We also offer placement in foreign language, English, and mathematics based on other national tests.

Placement and credits awarded are determined by the faculty of our academic departments and are subject to change without notice.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAMS
Appropriate credit/placement will be awarded in mid-July for any enrolling student who has sent official scores.
