Live on Campus, Extend Your Learning

Our campus is home to 8,300 students, almost half of our undergraduate student
body. We strongly recommend that all students live on campus, particularly through the first two years, because there is simply no better way to experience the unique sense of active engagement, community, and belonging that defines Carolina.

By living on campus, you’ll stay in touch with the heartbeat of Carolina. You’ll be
centrally located near classes, libraries, dining halls, campus events, happenings
in the Pit, the bustle of Franklin Street, and other “can’t miss” cornerstones of the
Carolina experience. You’ll create strong, enduring bonds with people you might
not have otherwise met.

According to the American Council on Education, on-campus students have better grades, take more credits, and are more likely to achieve a university degree than off-campus students. You have the rest of your life to live off campus, so don’t miss this chance to join your classmates and live the Carolina experience.

“I walk out of Carolina now treasuring the value and intrinsically satisfying impact of every opportunity and challenge: an internship across the Atlantic, a testy debate over literature in Greenlaw, a late-night one-on-one with a good friend in the basement of Cobb.”

Andrew Daub/English and International Studies/Huntersville, N.C.
