Part-Time Classroom Studies

When there’s something you’ve just got to know.

Through Part-Time Classroom Studies, eligible students can take for-credit courses on our campus. This program is offered through the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education.

Part-time students may take up to eight credit hours per semester. Undergraduate courses are open during the day on a space-available basis, and a core curriculum of undergraduate courses is offered at night. Students may take graduate-level courses if they obtain permission from the department offering the class. For more information about the program, please visit Part-Time Classroom Studies through the Friday Center.

Students who don’t already have a bachelor’s degree should apply through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you’ve already earned a bachelor’s degree, you’ll complete a post baccalaureate application through the Friday Center.

If you are a current student at another institution looking to take a summer course at Carolina, please contact the Summer School for application instructions.

Please read our FAQs for additional information on the Part-Time Classroom Studies program. If you have additional questions, please contact us at ptcs@admissions.unc.edu.
