About Me
I suppose I always knew I wanted to go to a big college. Raised on college football and
a love for the atmosphere of a college campus before I even began to consider where I
would apply, I was perpetually excited about one day being a part of a large community of
diverse students where unity and school spirit reigned supreme. I was born in
Greensboro, NC, but I also lived in Atlanta, GA and Tallahassee, FL, before moving to
Raleigh. Quite honestly, I had never considered attending Carolina until I moved back to
North Carolina, when it became clear to me that UNC had found a unique way to maintain a
magnificent reputation for academics while fueling some of the most renowned athletic
programs in the country. It was everything I needed.
When I came to Carolina, I jumped right in and joined the Marching Tar Heels, which has
been one of the most amazing experiences of my life, even though I am just now finishing
my first year with the band. Within the first week, I had also joined InterVarsity
Christian Fellowship, which has provided me with a strong, priceless group of friends. I
also knew I wanted to be a tour guide, just because I have always had way too much school
spirit for my own good, and I wanted people to love Carolina just as much as I do.
Finally, I am also involved in Service & Leadership Theme Housing, so I am already
essentially involved in a club with the people that live right next door. The sense of
community is amazing!
I have been a Carolina student for eight months now, and it sounds corny, but it has been
the most incredible eight months of my life. I have pushed myself, gotten involved, and
found Carolina to truly be a place of endless excitement and possibility. There’s
nothing quite like it.
