We’re stoked about all of the special activities happening in schools across the state as part of North Carolina College Application Month! If you’re in a school supported by Carolina College Advising Corps (CCAC), there’s even more going on this week. Check in with your college adviser to find out what’s happening at your school. From helping you submit your college application to providing tips on the FAFSA (Free Application or Federal Student Aid), your college adviser is here to help you own the college application process. Also, remember that some colleges will waive application fees just for submitting your application this week!
Considering Carolina? There’s still time to apply! The deadline is January 15, 2018. Only the application and application fee or application fee waiver request are due by the deadline. To request an application fee waiver, please talk to your college adviser.
Geoffrey Bell is a junior at Carolina studying Business Administration and German Literature – this past summer, he interned with AT&T at their Atlanta offices, where he worked on a team responsible for all promotions for the company’s consumer products. “I’ve learned a lot about careers I never knew existed,” Geoffrey told us. “That’s led me to experiences I don’t think I would’ve had otherwise.” He had the opportunity to participate in community service activities with AT&T, sorting food at the Atlanta Food Bank and painting a local elementary school. Team meetings were his favorite part of the day, but most of all, he loved working with a company that cared so much about the community and gave him opportunities to help as well.
“Going to Carolina has by far been one of the most eye-opening and transformative experiences of my life thus far. I’ve learned a lot about careers I never knew existed and am always surrounded by smart, driven and caring people. I’m always pushed to do my best and that’s led me to experiences I don’t think I would have had otherwise.”
