How to get yourself here.
Each year, we enroll just over 4,000 students in our first-year class. If you’d like to be one of them, you’re in the right place.
We offer two application deadlines for first-year applicants, so you can choose whichever deadline best fits your schedule. You’ll apply through the Common Application or the Coalition Application. Just search for “University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill” to get started.
Only your online application and your application fee must be submitted by the deadline. For Early Action, we have extended the deadline for Fall 2020 admission through October 17. For Regular Decision, the deadline is January 15. We ask that you submit the other parts of the application (transcripts, test scores, and any other requested supporting materials) by November 1 for Early Action and February 1 for Regular Decision. The sooner your application becomes complete, the sooner we’ll be able to review it. After you’ve submitted your application, we’ll send you information on how to check the status of your application and view any missing items online.
Please note that we’re only able to accept one application—either the Common Application or the Coalition application. If you submit an application and have important updates to share with us, please send your updated information to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, rather than submit a second application.
All students who wish to be considered for need-based financial aid should submit the FAFSA and CSS/Profile by March 1. Learn more about applying for financial aid.
