Are scholarships and financial aid available?
We direct most of our funding to need-based aid, because we want to ensure that each student who earns their place at Carolina can attend, thrive and graduate regardless of their or their family’s ability to pay. Both first-year and transfer applicants are considered for our full range of need-based aid as long as they submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CSS PROFILE by the University’s institutional deadline. For the limited number of scholarships that do not have any requirements regarding financial need, all students are considered just by submitting their application for admission. You do not need to take any additional action to be considered for these scholarships. Learn more on the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid website.
Please note that University-affiliated scholarships such as the Morehead-Cain and Robertson have separate application processes.
International students: If you do not hold U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, unfortunately, you are not eligible to receive need-based financial aid and should be prepared to pay the full cost of attendance for non-resident students. For details on the cost of attendance and Carolina’s net price calculator, please visit the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid website.
