I entered the military directly out of high school and have not yet taken any college courses. How do I prepare for Carolina?

We know students travel many paths to Carolina. Our holistic review considers all the information you submit in your application for admission including your military experience and all the other life experiences you’ll bring with you. Your academic record is also a critical component of your application for admission. If you’ve been out of high school for a number of years, or if your high school record is not as strong as you would like, we recommend pursuing college-level coursework prior to applying to Carolina. This coursework could be completed at a local community college, another 4-year school, or through Carolina’s Part-Time Classroom Studies program. Not only will you be a more competitive applicant for admission with some coursework under your belt, you’re also more likely to have a smooth transition from military service to life as a full-time student.
