I’ve accepted my Sophomore Guarantee offer. What do I need to do now?

Students receiving a Sophomore Guarantee should have a successful first year at another college or university, which includes:

  1. Attending an accredited college or university.
  2. Passing a full load of courses – the equivalent of 30 or more semester hours – by the end of the spring semester. This can be accomplished whether the courses are virtual or in-person, depending on what the college or university offers. Credit-by-exam (e.g. AP, IB, A Level) and college credit completed during high school do not count toward the 30 required semester hours.
  3. Achieving a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.30.
  4. Maintaining exemplary behavior, which will be confirmed by your completion of the community standards questions on the transfer application.

Students who accept their Sophomore Guarantee offer will then apply to Carolina for transfer admission during the spring semester of their first year of school.
