Once You’re Here

Use your unique skills to make a difference on campus and in the world.

If you’re a poet, write a poem only you can write. If you’re a researcher, solve a problem only you can solve. Learn, grow, and contribute in your unique and original way – that’s why we wanted you to be a Tar Heel. Here’s our best advice for your first semester at Carolina.

Get Connected

Join a student organization, find a club, visit your professor during office hours. There are so many good-hearted people on this campus ready to support and encourage you – people who need your support and encouragement as well.

Grow

Carolina is a place where your past and your future come together, honoring where you’ve been and setting you on the path to where you’ll be. All that growth can be encouraging and frustrating, thrilling and scary. We hope you’ll make space for the powerful changes that can happen at Carolina and remember that there are always people ready to help.
