Summer Study Abroad Fellows may complete their study abroad during the summer after the first, second, or third year of study at Carolina. Fellows must use their fellowship for a summer academic program approved by the UNC Study Abroad office, they must be eligible to study abroad (requirements vary by program but may include a minimum GPA or language prerequisite), and they must have received a formal acceptance into the program of their choice. The fellowship may not be used for the Carolina Summer Southeast Asia program.

“My study abroad program prepared me for my future career in many ways. We learned how to use our Spanish in the professional world and learned about business norms in Spain. Study abroad gave me experience with problem-solving and communicating with different groups of people in different contexts.”
