Are CIHS transfer applicants considered for Honors Carolina in the same way first-year applicants are?

Because Honors Carolina typically offers general-education courses taken during a student’s first two years in residence, there are often fewer offerings that appeal to CIHS students once enrolled at Carolina. CIHS students who apply as first-years are still reviewed for Honors Carolina if they indicate interest on their application whereas CIHS transfer students are not considered for Honors Carolina.

However, all students can graduate with honors by working closely with faculty members in their chosen major. For more information, please visit the General Education Curriculum and Degree Requirements page within the catalog and select “Undergraduate Honors: Degrees with Distinction.”
